　　On May 13, 2022, to raise the awareness of earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation among foreign residents in Liangshan, and to enhance their ability of earthquake disaster prevention and self-rescue, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange held an activity entitled "Scientific Knowledge Popularization of Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Mitigation for International Friends" at the circular lecture hall of Zhizhi Building on the Anning Campus. The activity was attended by officials from the Liangshan Prefecture People"s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Earthquake Disaster Mitigation Service Center of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture. Officials from Office of Campus Security of the university also attended the activity.

Li Si briefly introduced the development of international cooperation and exchange of Xichang University in the past five years, and expressed his gratitude to the Liangshan Prefecture People"s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Earthquake Disaster Mitigation Service Center of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture for their strong support and care for the work of foreign students in the university.

　　Kong Qingkang, president of the Liangshan Prefecture People"s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, distributed handbooks on earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation to the representatives of foreign students and foreign residents.

This activity has made Chinese and foreign students strengthened their awareness of earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation and deepened their understanding of emergency avoidance skills, thus greatly improving students" awareness and ability of self-protection. In the future, the university will further strengthen the cooperation and communication with government departments and organize activities such as earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation drills for foreign students.
